Physical and chemical properties: Sodium fluoride is a kind of shiny or white powder, and the relative density is 2.25, melting point 993℃, boiling point 1695℃. It solves in the water, hydrofluoric acid, slightly insoluble in alcohol. Its aqueous solution shows a low alkalinity. It can soluble in HF, generating sodium hydrogen fluoride, which can corrode the glass.
Application range: Sodium fluoride can be used as phosphatizing accelerator in coating industry. AL3+ can play a very big role of negative catalysis in sealing of AL and its alloy phosphating, which can contribute to the phosphatization. Besides, it can also be used as wood preservative, agricultural insecticide, brewing fungicide, medical preservatives, welding flux, and enamel, paper industry, and fluoride toothpaste additive as well.
